Dr. Suman Jayadev
Principal Investigator
Dr. Suman Jayadev holds the Arthur Krause Professorship in Neurogenetics Research and is Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Neurology. She is a clinical neurogeneticist, Director of the UW Huntington Disease Society of America Center of Excellence, and Associate Director, Clinical Core Lead of the UW Alzheimer Disease Research Center. Her research interest is how rare and common genetic variation alters the brain's immune responses to injury and age.

Lexi Cochoit
Research Scientist
Lexi’s research focuses on neuroinflammation and its role in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's Disease. Lexi enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, going on outdoor adventures. She also enjoys movies, live music, cooking, and traveling.

Isa Smith
Research Scientist
Isa is a Research Scientist at the Jayadev Lab. She is passionate about learning the role that glial cells play in Alzheimer's disease. When they're not in lab you can find them crafting, exploring Seattle, and hanging out with their leopard gecko, Mr.Bumps!

Fevet Ibrahim
Undergraduate Researcher
Fevet is a UW undergraduate studying neuroscience, biochemistry, and philosophy. She is fascinated by the human brain and is disheartened when I witness the impacts of its impairment. That’s why she hopes to recover losses of function in children with neurological illnesses through pediatric functional neurosurgery.

Aquene Reid
Graduate Student

Vanessa Sounders
Undergraduate Researcher

Mason Pirner
Undergraduate Researcher

Dr. Katherine Prater
Principal Investigator
Dr. Prater has a diverse background in neuroscience spanning human neuroimaging and network connectivity to behavioral neuroscience to the cellular and molecular interactions of microglia including transcriptomics. When not in the lab, Dr. Prater enjoys reading books, playing board games, and getting outside with her family.

Dr. Corbin Johnson
Postdoctoral Fellow
Corbin's research uses bioinformatic approaches to probe the roles of the peripheral immune system and resident microglia in neurodegenerative disease. Corbin is also passionate about training the next generation of scientists and he holds a MA in teaching from the University of Portland.

Undergraduate Researcher
Nikhil is an undergraduate student at the UW majoring in neuroscience with a minor in bioethics. He was drawn to neuroscience by learning about neurodegenerative disease, and wants to apply his passion by becoming a practicing neurologist. He loves music, tennis, and his dog.
